How much storage is included in OneDrive?
One Drive is Microsoft’s cloud-based storage platform. For businesses, OneDrive comes with 1TB of storage per user included for free — in both the separate and 365 versions of OneDrive. However, if this is not enough for you then your business may be able to upgrade to a higher level of storage.
If your company meets the following requirements, you could upgrade to 5TB of storage —
- You must have five or more business and enterprise users in your organisation.
- You must have at least one of the users in your business who has used over 90% of their OneDrive storage.
If you meet both these parameters, you can upgrade to 5 terabytes. However, if you require more than that you’ll need to contact Microsoft to be able to upgrade further. Ultimately, while OneDrive storage is free, Microsoft doesn’t let people have access to unlimited storage and only gives a high amount of storage to companies that need it.
This is generally not necessary, though, as one drive is a storage management system for user files. 1 TB pay user is ample to be able to ensure that everyone has enough storage for their day-to-day files, but the option for more is there if required.
What’s the difference between Microsoft 365 and Office 365?
It can be generally confusing to understand the difference between Microsoft 365 and Office 365. After all, many people are used to Office as the main Microsoft brand of applications, and so introducing Microsoft 365 into the fray generally makes it difficult to understand which is Which and what both entail.
The easy answer is that Microsoft Office consists of the applications within 365 that exist for productivity. This means applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. However, Microsoft has also changed as branding for Office to Microsoft 365, which includes it with other features, such as security and Cloud services.

Can I use Microsoft 365 without an internet connection?
As mentioned previously, the Microsoft 365 business basic subscription only included my apps of the office tools included within 365. These applications will have to be used on the internet within your browser.
But for all other subscriptions that include downloadable versions of 365 applications, you do not need to be connected to the internet to use them.
Does Microsoft 365 come with anti-virus?
Microsoft 365 has antimalware capabilities within its main security application — Microsoft Defender. Defender also has several other useful security features, including real-time protection, cloud-based protection, endpoint detection and response, threat intelligence, network protection, application control, behavioural analysis, and threat hunting.
However, these tools are only available within the business premium subscription, or other subscriptions such as Microsoft 365 E5. This means that if you want access to antivirus, you’d need to look past the standard 365 subscription or subscribe to solely Microsoft Defender separately.
